Licensing Library FAQ’S
How do I know which type of licence to get?
That depends on what kind of exclusivity you require. If you’re wanting the design to be only seen on your products and nowhere else then it’s best to look at an Exclusive licence. if you don’t mind seeing the design used in other industries but not on the same products as yours then an industry exclusive option would be for you. However if you’re not bothered by seeing the same design on similar products you could go for an non-exclusive licence.
What’s the difference between exclusive, non-exclusive, and industry exclusive?
Non-exclusive: The pattern is licensed to you but remains in my pattern library and can also be licensed to other brands non-exclusively.
Industry Exclusive: The pattern is licensed to you for a specific industry/category (e.g. women’s clothing, greeting cards, activewear, scrubs etc) but remains in my pattern library and can be licensed to other brands in other industries/categories (eg stationery, wall art etc). For example, this type of licence means that if you’ve licensed a pattern for greeting cards, you won’t see that same design licensed on greeting cards elsewhere, but may see it licensed on a different category such as women’s clothing.
Exclusive: Exclusive patterns can only be used by one brand/business at a time. This means that the pattern you licence will be exclusive to your brand for the licence term and not licensed to anyone else.
What format are the files?
All of my patterns are already set up in seamless repeat for digital printing (not for screen printing, and not using Pantone colour unless specified) and are in Adobe Illustrator (.ai) format.
How do I receive the file?
The final artwork files are digitally delivered via email or a google drive folder within 48hrs for you to download and use.
What happens when my licence runs out:
At the end of your licence I will get in touch to see if you want to renew the design for another year, if not the design will become available again in the licensing library.
